Pole dancing is both an art and a skill… not to mention incredibly sexy. I think that every woman should try pole dancing at least once in her lifetime.
Not only did I enjoy it, but I’ll be taking it to the next level!

Pole dancers are strong AF.
These women aren’t just talented dancers, but they’re amazing athletes too. For all you men and women out there who think that it’s easy, let me tell you that it’s not. They just make it seem that way. It’s because they’re strong that it looks effortless.
To avoid injury and to be better prepared, it’s wise to start doing some conditioning exercises before signing up for a class. It’s not essential, but it is helpful.
You will experience a steep learning curve.
Not only will you have to become stronger in order to do the moves, but you will also suffer a fair bit of aches and pains in the process. This is par for the course.
Oh, and you’ll get lots of bruises, but pole dancers refer to them as “pole kisses”. Yeah, that’s like calling a vampire bite a peck on the cheek. It sounds better, but it really isn’t. LOL
Do you want to know what helps with bruises? Arnica cream and vitamin C. Put on lots of the former and consume lots of the latter.
Pole dancing makes you feel sexy.
Yes, even with the soreness and the bruising, it’s hard not to feel sexy when you’re pole dancing. I mean, c’mon… you’re dancing… with a pole. It’s totally sexy.
Pole dancing shows you that you can embrace your sexuality… no matter what size or shape you are.
Always dance for yourself… to turn yourself on. Being turned on makes you feel sexy. Turn your body into the sexiest thing that you own.
It’s a beautiful way to express your femininity.
Women are natural exhibitionists and men are natural voyeurs, so it’s a win-win for both sides. And nothing makes you feel more feminine than using body movement to artfully illustrate your feminine form.
Whether you ever dance in front of a man is up to you, but anytime you connect with your body, you are connecting with the feminine goddess within.
Pole dancing is an incredible workout.
Looking as a spectator, you don’t realize what’s involved. Pole dancing engages ALL of your muscles in order to lift, climb, and spin.
Pole dancing is a full body workout that combines strength training and cardio. If you stick with it, you can’t help but get in great shape.
Even if you’re already in great shape, it’s a new and fun way to exercise.
It’s a great way to improve your flexibility.
While some people are more flexible than others, you can definitely increase your flexibility and improve your range of motion through pole dance. Increasing flexibility over time improves how your body feels and moves.
Be sure to warm up and stretch before, and after, your workout to keep muscles long and limber.
It’s an excellent way to challenge your mind as well as your body.
Different types of workouts challenge different muscles. And you’ll have to train your muscles specifically for pole dancing. This challenges the body because it’s new and different.
Not many people realize how much brain and memory ability is required to perform several dance steps but also to remember those steps in a set order.
That’s why learning new dance moves and entire routines challenge your brain. Learning something new causes the brain to build connections between neurons, replacing some of those we lose over time.
Don’t be afraid of being a beginner. With pole dancing, everyone starts from scratch.
Pole dancing can connect you with your sensuality.
Our sensuality is experienced through our senses. Music appeals to our sense of sound. The use of the pole, and when we touch our bodies in dance, appeals to our sense of touch.
When we move our bodies in dance, we create a space for our sensuality to flourish.
And this combination of music and dance is not only beautiful to look at but very seductive as well.
It’s a great conversation starter.
Whether you mention it to a man or a woman, you’re sure to get an eyebrow raise from it. Whether they have actually seen pole dancing or not, they all seem to know what it is.
And men, being the visual creatures that they are, can conjure up a vision of you on a pole rather quickly. Gotta love that.
If you want to build your sexual confidence, then you need to become more comfortable talking about your sexuality. This is a good start.
It’s an excuse to buy some sexy new outfits.
A woman should already own lots of sexy shoes and clothes, but your man will hardly put up a fight when you need them for pole class! Take advantage of this.
Outfits could include activewear, dancewear, lingerie and even bathing suits. It’s entirely up to you. But the more advanced you get, the more skin that needs to be exposed to perform those advanced tricks.
You get to wear some incredibly sexy shoes.
Sexy shoes are a nice addition if you want to try them.
You’ll most likely learn to pole dance in bare feet but after that, try it with the shoes. I found it easier to pole dance wearing heels.
Don’t think that if you can’t walk in heels, that you won’t be able to dance with them.
I can practically run in heels, but my instructor can barely walk in hers and yet she dances like an angel in them.
It’s like the pole gives you super powers! At the very least, it gives you something to hold onto! haha
You can find a nice selection of platform heels that are made for this type of dance at some sex stores that sell clothing.
In closing, I would like to say that pole dancing is a great opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and into your sensuality.
Give it a try. You never know, you just might like it. I know I did.
