Do You Know Where Your G-spot Is?
If you’ve ever watched those old Herbal Essence shampoo commercials… with women in total ecstasy while washing their hair… you’d be tempted to think your G-Spot was on the top of your head!
Well, I hate to break it to you, but it’s not! LOL
While that may not surprise you, there is the issue of locating it, and surprisingly, even a debate over its existence!
You’d think it was a freaking unicorn!
What you should know about your G-spot…
First, I want to tell you that it does exist, and stimulating it can give you some pretty incredible sensual pleasure!
The kind of pleasure that stops you in your tracks and renders you speechless!
In fact, massaging it can even lead to female ejaculation, a phenomenon that is also disputed, and rarely discussed.
According to Deborah Sundahl, in her book Female Ejaculation & the G-spot, it was sexologists Ladas, Whipple, and Perry (in 1982) that coined the term “G-spot.” They named it after the German physician and scientist, Ernst Grafenberg, who first wrote about it in 1950.
They also identified its muscle and nerve support and discovered that it can produce its own unique type of orgasm.
Locating your G-spot…
The exact location is difficult to pinpoint because every woman is different… and therein lies the issue with finding it!
It’s like that wiley and elusive unicorn, right?
The problem is that male-dominated science tends to define everything through its comparison to male anatomy. This doesn’t allow for this “variation” from woman to woman. That creates not only debate but stress, for men and women alike.
If a man is told that its existence is debatable, then actually finding it will be like finding that unicorn! Not finding it, however, can be frustrating and disappointing.
If a woman is under the same belief, then finding it can mean learning that she has an additional source of pleasure. Yay. Although, not finding it, could lead to feelings of inadequacy… as if somehow she is “broken” or not meant for this kind of pleasure.
To find your G-spot, you simply need to insert a finger into your vagina and hook it upwards towards your belly. On the anterior (front) wall of the vagina, you’ll find a spongy mass. It will feel unlike the rest of the tissue and resemble the ridged texture of corduroy fabric. It will be somewhere between the vaginal opening and your cervix. Like I said, the exact location is unique to each woman. And also worth mentioning is that it may need to be engorged to feel it. I’ll address the importance of arousal next.
Getting pleasure from your
G-spot…
Alas, finding it is only half the battle. Whether it will have the capacity to provide pleasure will depend on the efforts of you and/or your partner.
The key is in arousal. The more aroused you are, the more likely that your G-Spot will produce pleasurable feelings.
In that regard, it’s very comparable to the clitoris. If you’re “not in the mood”, or your clitoris isn’t being stimulated in the manner that you need and prefer, then touching it can be ineffective, uncomfortable, and even painful.
And while we’re on the subject of your clitoris, having a clitoral orgasm, prior to stimulating your G-spot, can lead to a higher probability of getting pleasure from the latter.
Again, every woman is different, and G-spot sensitivity varies dramatically. But the more aroused you are, the better.
It isn’t something that will produce instant, orgasm-like sensations, but instead, will take time, practice and the right amount of pressure.
A G-Spot orgasm will be different than a clitoral orgasm simply because it’s stimulated by different nerves. The clitoris is stimulated by the pudendal nerve and the G-spot by the pelvic nerve.
Different nerves mean different types of orgasms. And one isn’t better, or more preferable, than the other. They’re both great!

Stimulating your G-Spot…
Once you’ve identified its location, and are sufficiently aroused, then you can proceed to stimulate it.
How you go about this depends entirely on you.
Your fingers, his fingers, his penis, or sex toys designed for this purpose.
This variety of options means that you can stimulate your G-spot with or without a partner.
Just know that however you go about it… it will require a fair bit of firm and consistent pressure.
Some interesting facts…
The G-spot in women is analogous to the prostate in men. It was Alexander Skene, M.D, back in 1880, who studied the glands and ducts that constitute the “female prostate” (aka Skene’s glands).
But, it wasn’t until 1953, when urologist Samuel Berkow determined that it could become engorged and erect, similar to that of a penis, your clitoris and your nipples.
Finally, it wasn’t until the 1980’s, that research concluded that these glands contained cells having common characteristics to those found in the prostate gland, and could secrete fluids.
Of course, female ejaculate doesn’t contain sperm like a man’s does, but aside from that, the chemical make-up is quite similar.
The amount that gets ejaculated can be as little as a teaspoon and as much as a cup!
With smaller quantities, some women can be ejaculating without even knowing it!
While other women producing larger quantities may be worried that they have urinated, due to the greater amount of it.
FYI, it’s not urine, but that feeling you get prior to ejaculation can feel very similar to the need to urinate.
But, not only is urination unlikely, it is highly improbable, especially if you’ve emptied your bladder beforehand. Doing so would be wise… just to give you peace of mind.
The right atmosphere…
Along with arousal, and firm and consistent pressure on the G-spot (to build up the fluid necessary for ejaculation), you also need to feel safe and relaxed with your partner.
You need to be able to “let go” and “allow” for it to happen.
This is perhaps the biggest obstacle facing women… not just in this instance… but for enjoying sex in general.
In my humble opinion, the ability to let go during sex is more important than finding your G-spot or having the ability to ejaculate.
For sex to be truly enjoyable, you need to be comfortable in your own skin and be willing to be uninhibited.
Then, and only then, might you get the Herbal Essence shampoo effect!
